International Erasmus+ BALANCE Project: First Results

On December 11-12, a meeting was held at Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic) as part of the first interim reporting on the International Erasmus+ BALANCE Project: Building Active Lifestyles and Nurturing Cultural Engagement. Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work in the Field of International Cooperation Viktor Gasso and Dean of the Faculty of Medical Technologies of Diagnostics and Rehabilitation Olga Voronkova were invited to present the achievements of DNU at the offline meeting of the project implementers.

Charles University chairs BALANCE, so it was chosen for the first reporting meeting on the project. DNU, as one of the implementers of the project, together with other European universities, is exploring the possibilities of involving young people in an active lifestyle and forming an active worldview.
Only a month has passed since the official launch of BALANCE, but during this time a significant amount of work has already been done: the project and its goals were presented to the students of the Faculty of Medical Technologies of Diagnostics and Rehabilitation of DNU, a survey of students was conducted on typical daily activities and obstacles that affect the rhythm of life, as well as ways to overcome them. As part of the tasks of the first stage of implementation, the project implementers also selected scientific sources for an overview of physical, mental and social health issues among the youth of Ukraine and added them to the general overview part of the project for a comparative analysis of the state of the problem with that taking place in other countries - participants in the study.

At the meeting, the participants of the BALANCE project had the opportunity to get to know each other better and present their educational institutions and areas of their activity, which is the foundation for closer and more effective cooperation. Reporting on the results of the work was carried out in the form of a presentation of analytical materials based on the results of the student survey. The two-day work schedule was very tight, given that after the presentation, the results of all participating universities were analyzed, compared and discussed. Key positions were found for further development of the project and the next stages of task implementation were planned.
