New Opportunities for Cooperation via Learning Polish
Learning Polish for teachers and students of the Faculty of Psychology and Special Education of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University has become a step towards strengthening international academic mobility. With the support of Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznań), in particular thanks to the efforts of the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences, Mariusz Urbanski, future psychologists and their teachers have been studying Polish for the second year, attending summer schools in Poznań, and developing joint research projects.

10 students of the specialties “Psychology”, “Practical Psychology”, “Special Education: Speech Therapy and Correctional Psychopedagogy” and four teachers of the Faculty of Psychology and Special Education of DNU attended online courses divided into two groups: A1 - for beginners and B2 - for those who have already studied the language. This is the second academic year of language study for students and teachers of DNU.

Course instructors – representatives of the Department of Polish Studies and Translation of the Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Olena Bai, and the Head of the Department, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Svitlana Sukhareva, were able to convey a true passion for the Polish language to the students.

The study takes place together with representatives of the Ukrainian State University named after Mykhaylo Dragomanov and the Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. Joint meetings in the online format allow us to resolve many issues of scientific and educational directions and develop productive relations with representatives of higher education institutions in Poland and Ukraine.

Special attention was paid to professional vocabulary related to the practice of psychologists and teachers. The 2024/2025 academic year, compared to the previous one, was distinguished by a significantly greater focus on practical communication. Special emphasis was placed on the development of oral skills, participation in dialogues, discussions and role-playing games that simulate real life and professional situations.
