Lecturers of the Department of Mathematical Modelling
There are 2 professors, 7 associate professors, 1 assistant professor, 3 assistants. The main direction of scientific researches is mathematical modelling of linear and nonlinear phenomena in complex systems.

The Department of Mathematical Modeling was set up in 1986. Doctor of Sciences, Professor Viktor Mykhailovych Chernyshenko became its first head. Since 1989 the chair has been headed by Associate Professor V.D. Lamziuk. The staff includes 2 professors, 7 associate processors, 1 senior instructor and 1 assistant.

The Department trains bachelors, specialists and masters with the major «Applied Mathematics» (specialization «Mathematical Modeling»).

Its graduates can work in different areas where thorough knowledge is required. Their job is to take part in development, implementation and application of mathematical methods, algorithms and software systems as well as in theoretical and practical research in the area of mathematical, technical and natural sciences. They can also participate in development and application of different information systems and data bases, development software for automated systems. They are required to possess knowledge and practical skills in mathematical modeling, in conducting computing experiments, in software development.

Functioning at the Department there are full-time and part-time postgraduate courses for the following majors: «Mechanics of a Deformed Solid» and «Mathematical Modeling and Computation Methods».
