How is education changing in the era of the cognitive revolution? How is artificial intelligence affecting the way we learn and work? What should be the new architecture of learning in a world where knowledge is more accessible than ever? How can universities and businesses adapt to rapid technological changes and together shape human capital in Ukraine? What remains a deficit in a world where knowledge is becoming almost free? What skills are becoming the most in demand in the new economy?
These and many other questions were discussed at Forbes University 2026 — a large-scale conference on the future of business, education and artificial intelligence on August 20 in Kyiv.
The traditional annual forum from Forbes University 2026 this time brought together over 300 participants from all over the country – national and foreign leaders of education, business and management, who are currently shaping a new economy of knowledge: building the higher education system, developing corporate schools and investing in the development of human capital in Ukraine.
In particular, among the 20 invited speakers of Forbes University 2026 were leading representatives of the Ukrainian and international educational community: online – former Minister of Education of Estonia and ex-rector of the University of Tartu and TalTech Jaak Aaviksoo; Fred and Eleanor Glimp Professor of Economics at Harvard University Edward Glaeser; President of the American University in Kyiv, Head of the Cascade Systems Advisory Board Dan Rice; offline – President of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA) Serhiy Kvit, sociologist, scientific and public figure, lecturer at NaUKMA, Head of the Center for Humanities Mykhailo Vуnnytskyi; President of the National University „Kyiv Aviation Institute“ Ksenia Semenova; Rector of Lviv „Polytechnic“ Nataliуa Shakhovska and Rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University Taras Dobko and other experts.
The team of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University, led by Rector Sergiy Okovytyy, joined the exchange of views and professional experience, represented by Acting Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Natalia Guk and Associate Professor of the Department of Mass and International Communication, Head of IAA „UNI-press“ Alla Bakhmetyeva.
At the open dialogue platform, colleagues analyzed the central topic „Cognitive Revolution and the Future of Talents“.
During subsequent discussion panels, the speakers focused on the processes that are changing the global education system: the development of artificial intelligence, unprecedented access to knowledge, the transition to online learning, the need for continuous professional development and new formats of interaction between universities and business.
