In summer, 2026 new stage of the international Erasmus+ BALANCE (Building Active Lifestyles and Nurturing Cultural Engagement) project officially began: the launch of a student ambassador initiative promoting healthy lifestyles.

The DNU team of ambassadors includes students from the Faculty of Psychology and Special Education and the Faculty of Medical Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Technologies. Over the coming year, they will implement initiatives aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and encouraging positive everyday habits among their peers.
As part of the project, each ambassador will spend one year working on an individual plan for developing healthy habits. Students will maintain a beneficial habit they have already established while also introducing a new, realistic and achievable practice that supports their physical or psychological well-being.

The ambassadors will share their experiences at international BALANCE meetings and events and raise awareness of healthy lifestyle practices within the student community.

The ambassadors will be supported throughout their individual development plans by BALANCE mentors – DNU faculty members and specialists. Over the course of the year, mentors will provide professional guidance on goal-setting and help students build motivation for positive change.
With this mentoring support, students will be able to track and reflect on their progress and receive recommendations aimed at maintaining a healthy balance between physical and mental well-being.
Our ambassadors' mentors:
• Olha Voronkova – Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Technologies;
• Olena Khomenko – Associate Professor at the Department of General Medicine with a Physical Therapy Course, Faculty of Medical Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Technologies;
• Viktoriia Kutiepova-Bredun – Associate Professor at the Department of General and Social Psychology, Deputy Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Psychology and Special Education;
• Yana Aminieva – Lecturer at the Department of General and Social Psychology.
The BALANCE project brings together universities from across Europe around a shared goal: fostering a culture of healthy living, supporting psychological well-being, promoting physical activity, and encouraging young people to take an active role in creating a healthier educational environment.
We wish our ambassadors every success in implementing their initiatives, making new international connections, finding inspiration, and achieving their goals. We are confident that their engagement will make a valuable contribution to the DNU student community and to the successful implementation of the Erasmus+ BALANCE project.
