In July, Oles Honchar Dnipro National University honored its students who have achieved outstanding results in sports competitions at the national, regional, and university levels.
Our student athletes are talented, determined, and versatile, proudly representing their Alma Mater in a wide range of sports, including football, volleyball, table tennis, and chess.
Congratulating the students on their victories and their excellent representation of the University, Rector Sergiy Okovytyy emphasized the important role of sport during wartime:
– Today, sport is about much more than physical strength and personal development. It also helps support mental well-being and develops teamwork skills, because every game is an effective team-building experience.

Yevhenii Snida, Head of the DNU Labor Union Organization, noted that the University, with the support of the trade union, organizes numerous competitions every year, with students and faculty members actively taking part. The Labor Union Organization also consistently finds ways to support and recognize the University's athletes.

In particular, the Acting Rector congratulated the DNU women's volleyball team on its prize-winning performances at regional competitions. On 19–20 May, the city of Balta, Odesa region, hosted a tournament as part of the third (interregional) stage of the nationwide “Side by Side” Student Leagues for women's volleyball teams. The DNU team took 3rd place, winning bronze medals at the zonal stage. This strong result confirms the consistently high level of preparation of our athletes.

The Tykhomyrov siblings are multiple winners and medalists of student chess competitions at the national, regional, and university levels.
The achievements of the DNU men's football team at city-level competitions were also recognized.
