DNU is a Platform for a Nationwide Dialogue on Supporting of Internally Displaced People

On February 19, Oles Honchar Dnipro National University hosted the All-Ukrainian meeting-dialogue of internally displaced people and the authorities “Together for Decisions”, which became a public space for discussing current problems, exchanging views and jointly developing practical solutions between IDP and representatives of central and local authorities.

 

The large-scale socially important event was initiated by the Inter-Faction Deputy Association “IDP of Ukraine”, which unites 30 parliamentarians from various committees and deputy groups of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on interparliamentary relations with foreign countries and delegations to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The purpose of the IFO “IDP of Ukraine” is to form a coordination platform on the basis of the Verkhovna Rada for the protection, advocacy and implementation of the rights of internally displaced people; people who were in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine or were forcibly displaced; other people whose rights were violated as a result of the armed aggression of the russian federation. The Public Organization “IDP of Ukraine” is an all-Ukrainian volunteer movement that also works to help internally displaced people and the front also joined the organization of the representative forum in Dnipro.

 

At the invitation of the people's deputies, numerous representatives of the Parliament, the Government, regional authorities, public organizations and internally displaced people visited our city. Dnipropetrovsk region, in particular, was represented by heads of specialized structural units of the regional military administration (Dnipropetrovsk OVA), heads of the RVA, MVA, heads of military administrations relocated to Dnipro and the region, the head of the Council on Internally Displaced People under the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration and the heads of other councils on IDP issues in the region, heads of regional and city employment centers, management of the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk region, directors of the city's ASNs. Among the distinguished guests were: Tetyana Kiriyenko – a Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine; Iryna Kovpashko – a Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Pension Fund of Ukraine; Oleksandr Ganzha – a Chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk OVA; Eduard Pidlubny – a Deputy Mayor for Executive Bodies, a Director of the Social Policy Department of the DMR; Viktoriya Kuznetsova – a Director of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Employment Center and the Director of the Dnipro Branch – Lyudmila Shmidt. The focus of the guests’ attention was on key problems and tasks related to internally displaced people in Dnipropetrovsk region.

 

The expert meeting was structured in the form of a dialogue, which included a lively discussion in a question-and-answer format; exchange of real cases and proposals; development of joint recommendations and a roadmap for parliamentary actions, as well as direct communication between the authorities and citizens.

 

The participants professionally analyzed various topics related to the comprehensive protection of the rights and freedoms of internally displaced people in Ukraine.
