Alina Solnyshkina, associate professor of the Department of Social Work and Management of Social Processes of DNU, attended the fourth Symposium of Francophone Scientific Research in Central and Eastern Europe, which was held on October 30-31 in Romania at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University. The forum was aimed at solving social problems in the French-speaking world, in particular those related to sustainable development, artificial intelligence, security, and multilingualism. Considerable attention was paid to workshops on the development of interdisciplinary international scientific research.

The scientific report in French by Alina Solnyshkina “Sociological analysis of the development of professional competences of social workers: French and Ukrainian experience” was highly appreciated by the organizing committee in the section of socio-economic disciplines. The relevance of the research is indisputable: the experience of practical training of social workers during a full-scale invasion and the comparative analysis of the practice of social work with Ukrainian forced migrants in Romania and France really deserve special attention.

Alina said that at DNU the elements of training future social workers are meetings with their successful colleagues, visits to safe spaces for children, attempts to conduct preventive classes and personality development trainings. And, for example, the Institute of Social Work in Tours (France) has very strong internship practices during training in social services and socially oriented organizations, there are long-standing traditions of supervision. The second part of her report was devoted to social assistance in France and Romania to Ukrainian men and women who were forced to move to these countries during the full-scale invasion. Organization of professional and language courses, creative development classes for children, stress prevention trainings, group and individual work - this is an incomplete list of methods that I mentioned in her presentation.

As part of the symposium, the SAGES round table, which is important for the professional development of a sociologist, was held, dedicated to the analysis of programs of socio-economic and socio-political directions in the field of population welfare and quality of life. Studies of the index of happiness and trust aroused special interest. Thus, decent pay, interesting work, family safety, and family happiness were named among the main conditions for the well-being of the Romanian people.
