The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Ukraine, Luboš Veselý, took part in the official opening of the Center for Czech Language and Culture of DNU. Together with the rector of the university, Sergiy Okovytyy, they cut the symbolic ribbon and discussed the promising directions of the Center's work.
The Center for Czech Language and Culture is organized at the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology and Art Studies, and its opening was the next step in the development of cooperation between DNU and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ukraine, with Charles University in Prague and Masaryk University in Brno. Our interaction with Czech partners in all areas is actively supported by the regional authorities. Therefore, the created Center for Czech Language and Culture, in addition to the academic community of DNU, will also provide support for the development of Ukrainian industrial enterprises, private institutions and institutions. Given the long-term program of reconstruction of the Dnipropetrovsk region after the war, which is supervised by the Czech Government, soon all of them will need knowledge of Czech at all levels to cooperate with Czech colleagues. It is precisely in mastering the general and professional features of the Czech language that our specialized Center helps.
It is interesting to note that the preliminary presentation of the new space for learning took place two months ago, and it is now actively working.
Solemnly cutting the symbolic ribbon together with the rector of the university, Mr. Luboš Veselý noted that he was pleased that the center is already actively working.

The first group consists of 12 students who are happy to study Czech. These are students, teachers, and residents of Dnipro who are eager to learn the Czech language. The recruitment of students for the second group is ongoing. And even despite the initial shortage of educational literature, both teachers and students of the courses are motivated to master new knowledge. The coordinator of the Center is a Professor Natalia Dyachok.
In the future, the Center will attract more philologist teachers from Alma mater, as well as specialists from other higher education institutions and enterprises, in particular foreign ones, for educational and methodological work.

The consultations on facilitating the center's activities were attended by Deputy Ambassador, Envoy Counselor, Head of the Political and Economic Department Benjamin Zhiga, First Secretary of the Embassy, Diplomat for Cooperation with the Dnipropetrovsk Region Vaclav Kallus, First Secretary of the Embassy, Diplomat for Cooperation with the Dnipropetrovsk Region Pavel Kamenik, and Project Manager of the Embassy Natalia Andreeva. Our university was represented at the meeting by Acting First Vice-Rector Valentina Silich-Balgabayeva, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work in the Field of International Cooperation Viktor Gasso, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Oleg Marenkov, Acting Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Natalia Guk, Vice-Rector for Legal Affairs and Development Peter German, Head of the Department of General Linguistics and Slavic Studies Natalia Dyachok, Head of the IAA “UNI-Press” Alla Bakhmetyeva, and Czech language teacher Andriy Skoplev.
