DNU in the World Ranking THE WUR-2026

In early October, a new edition of one of the most influential international university rankings - Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026 - was released. In the top world ranking, Oles Honchar Dnipro National University with indicators of 10.3-27.2 maintains its position in the general category of 1,501+.

The quality of education and scientific activity of the HEI in THE WUR-2026 was assessed by 13 indicators, combined into 5 key categories:

quality of teaching - reputation of the university, ratio of teachers and students, academic atmosphere - 19.2 points at DNU;

research environment - volume of research, impact and reputation of scientific publications - 9.5 points;

quality of research - international recognition of research, the role of the university in the dissemination of knowledge and ideas in global science - 9.1 points;

cooperation with industry – the university’s ability to help industry with innovations and inventions – 17.7 points;

international presence – cooperation with universities around the world, the ability to attract foreign students, postgraduates and teachers – 21.3 points.

Compared to last year’s THE WUR indicators, Dnipro National University demonstrated some growth both in the overall and in individual rating categories. Namely: in 2025, positive dynamics are observed in the field of assessing the research environment – +1.3 points; cooperation with industry – +0.2 points; international interaction – +0.3 points. The weight of the overall rating score of DNU increased by 2.1 points.

In general, in the Ukrainian national ranking table from the British agency Times Higher Education, DNU is ranked for the fifth year in a row - and until now it was the only representative of the Dnipropetrovsk region's HEIs. Currently, in the world range of +1501, DNU shares the position with two other HEIs of the Dnipropetrovsk region - the National Technical University of Ukraine “Dnipro Polytechnic” and the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology.

In total, 22 Ukrainian HEIs were included in the prestigious international ranking this year (5 more than last year), another 45 received Reporter status - and this is a record figure for the country. Thus, world experts record the growth of the quality and competitiveness of Ukrainian education and science, even despite the long war.

In total, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026 evaluated 2,191 universities from 115 countries and territories.
