Giving a Chance for Saving Lives

On Donor Day, which is celebrated on the 14th of June all over the world, the Dnipro Regional Center for Plasma Procurement and Processing “DNIPRO-PLASMA” welcomed donor groups and honorary donors from our region. The staff of the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University is also a social partner of DNIPRO-PLAZMA.

Receiving the award from the director of the center, Iryna Kilchynska, the rector of DNU Sergiy Okovytyy said:

– Since the first days of the war, students, teachers and staff of the university have been donating their blood to help save the Ukrainian military. Only during the first 5 months of this year, 182 donors from DNU donated blood to produce plasma products that give hope for life to hundreds of our defenders, children with cancer, and all those affected by the terrorist attacks of the aggressor country. This is a significant help to the medical system of Ukraine to maintain its resilience in extreme wartime conditions.

 

A classical university is not only education. It is also bringing up socially responsible young people who are not indifferent to the problems of their country and fellow citizens. The slogan of DNIPRO-PLAZMA “Your blood can fight” accurately and succinctly reflects the position of our team, which supports the social initiatives of our partners and holds its educational front”.

Iryna Kilchynska, director of the Center for Plasma Procurement and Processing, thanked everyone who helps to produce medicines that are indispensable in military field hospitals to stabilize the wounded, in oncology, burn and perinatal centers.

Besides Oles Honchar Dnipropetrovsk National University, among the socially responsible partners of the Dnipro-Plasma there are also representatives of businesses, institutions and organizations of the city that support the donor movement and promote donation. These are the Department of Patrol Police in Dnipropetrovsk region, Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, Dnipro University of Technology, the Regional Division of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, and others.

Donor means to give. Our donors give the most valuable thing – a chance for life.
