Dedication to Students-2021

On August 31, the entire university community gathered for the celebration of freshmen – Dedication to students of the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University. The solemn oath of the student to the ancient student anthem Gaudeamus, symbolic bread and salt as a sign of persistent and interesting learning and other mandatory elements of dedication awaited this year's nearly 2,000 freshmen.

In total, in 2021 the ranks of students of DNU were replenished with almost 2,700 students, including 1,830 bachelors (full-time and part-time) and 799 masters (full-time and part-time).

The happy young men and women were congratulated on the important event by the rector of DNU, Professor Sergiy Okovytyy, and the guests of the holiday. "Student years are a lifelong friendship, love, fun, relentless search for yourself and bold plans for the future, which you build with youthful maximalism, not limited to everyday life", said Sergiy Ivanovych. – And we, the teachers and the university administration, strive to help you become successful, to determine the profile in the chosen specialty that will maximize your potential, create an academic atmosphere around you that will help reveal your talents and abilities, do everything to make you have become self-confident, high-class and competitive professionals and happy young people".

Also, the rector of DNU, according to the long-standing university tradition, handed over to the representatives of the new generation of DNU students symbolic student card and record book. And from the teachers the best young representatives of the three directions of classical university sciences (humanities, technical and natural sciences) received bread and salt as a symbol of persistent study and interesting student life.

In addition, all together – students and guests of the holiday – observed a minute of silence in memory of students and teachers of Dnipro University who died for peace and independence of Ukraine and laid flowers to the Monument to the Fallen Students.

Then, during the celebrations, the employees of DNU were awarded diplomas of the Dnipro Regional Council for the training of scientific personnel, active scientific and pedagogical and public activities and on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine.

During the evening, the participants of the festival were entertained by the creative teams of the Palace of Students – the folk studio of modern vocal "Dream", folk dance ensemble "Rainbow", dance theater "La Vie" and others.
