DNU student is in the Top 10 of university athletes of Ukraine 2013

Recently, the Committee for Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, has carried out a survey among sports journalists of national and regional media (newspapers, magazines, radio, television, Internet editions) to determine the top ten university athletes who over 2013 successfully represented educational sport in the international arena. In particular, at the top 10 there is third year student of the Faculty of Social Sciences and International Relations of Dnepropetrovsk National University - champion in swimming (50 meters butterfly) at XXVII World Summer Universiade 2013 - Andriy Hovorov. Currently Andriy Hovorov is the Champion of Europe (1 golden and 1 bronze medal) in swimming. By the way, the student of DNU was the only athlete from Dnipropetrovsk region, who was in the Top 10. We should note that the main attention of experts was paid to Ukrainian students at the main competitions of the season 2013 - summer and winter World Universiade, held in Kazan (Russian Federation) and Trento (Italy). In total, the national representatives of summer sports at the arenas in Kazan have won 77 medals (12 gold, 39 silver, 26 bronze). At the Students Winter Games in Trento Ukrainian team won nine medals (three gold, silver and bronze).
