Dnipropetrovsk National University will host the Foundation of Rectors of academic institutions in Poland

The visit of Polish universities to Ukraine is scheduled for early June, the program of staying includes Kyiv and Odessa.

President of the National Council of Science and Higher Education of Poland Jerzy Voznicki professor and rector of DNU Professor Polyakov discussed the results of the international project "Analysis of some examples of cooperation between Polish and Ukrainian universities at the background of comparison of higher education. Conclusions and Recommendations". The key partners of this project were: Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, Union of Rectors of Universities of Ukraine, National Council of Science and Higher Education of Poland, International Foundation for Education Policy Research. The aim was to identify, settle and analyse the selected examples of academic cooperation between Polish and Ukrainian universities.

"The survey covered about 100 universities in two countries - said Mr. Voznicki. - We believe that high-quality empirical research will make a systematic and comprehensive analysis of cooperation and compare the ways of the higher education systems in Poland and Ukraine. Dnepropetrovsk University was very active in the development of a Polish-Ukrainian academic exchanges, and in this study will be very representative in understanding of potential Ukrainian higher education by Polish Rectors, so their delegation will definitely visit DNU."

"Our experience of cooeration with Warsaw, Wroclaw, Lublin and other universities in Poland shows that we have already manifestedourselves as reliable partners, open to academic cooperation, - said Mykola Polyakov. - Today we are interested in expanding exchanges in the scientific area by searching for new partner universities."

The deans of faculties and leading scientists of DNU who already have experience of work with Polish colleagues were invited to join the conversation. They attracted the Polish representative's attention to the specific results of scientific research. In particular, the Dean of the Faculty of History Professor Serhiy Svitlenko described the archaeological finds made during expeditions in conjunction with researchers at the University of Wroclaw first in our region. Dean of International Economics Professor Natalia Stukalo described the results of the joint project "Innovation and Leadership University", implemented at the University of Warsaw with the participation of Ukrainian scientists. According to our scientists, joint research on this project helped to work out recommendations for systemic change in the process of modernization of Ukrainian higher education.
