DNU in THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026
On June 24, the British rating agency Times Higher Education (THE) presented the results of the annual global ranking of higher education institutions Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 (formerly THE Impact Rankings). Oles Honchar Dnipro National University is ranked in this prestigious rating for the third year in a row. In total, THE rated only 55 Ukrainian universities by indicators of impact on social development.

The Times Higher Education Sustainable Development Impact Rating is the only global rating that assesses the impact of higher education on social development and the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proclaimed by the UN. Thus, the impact rating measures the achievements of the university in implementing the SDGs included in its development strategy, as well as the degree of implementation of the tasks of the stated strategy.
The Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 examines 1,646 higher education institutions from 116 countries and territories across 17 separate SDG tables and one overall rating. The methodology takes into account not only the analysis of the educational activities and scientific research of the university in the field of SDGs (source: Elsevier), but also their impact on society, the development of socially oriented programs, support for sustainable practices, responsible resource management, interaction with communities, etc.
This year, in the overall rating table showing the most sustainable universities from around the world, Oles Honchar Dnipro National University with a total score of 12.0–33.0 is ranked in the 1,501+ category. This international experts have confirmed the high level of involvement of our university in the implementation of global goals.
DNU demonstrated high results in the following key SDGs:
SDG 14 “Life below Water” – with indicators of 2.1–37.4, our university is located in the range of 401+;
SDG 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities” – with indicators of 19.8–36.9, DNU falls into the range of 601–800;
SDG 3 “Good Health and Well-being” – with indicators of 33.5–43.7, DNU is represented in the range of 801–1000.
Other strong results of DNU include:
SDG 9 “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” – 801–1000;
SDG 10 “Reduced Inequalities” – 801–1000;
SDG 4 “Quality Education” – 1001+;
SDG 5 “Gender Equality” – 1001+;
SDG 17 “Partnership for the Goals” – 1001–1500+.
The total score for all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals in 2026 for DNU is 27.1–47.4.
The stable participation of DNU in the Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings once again proves that our university is an active participant in the global academic space, which combines high-quality education, modern scientific research, and responsibility to society. Consistent implementation of the principles of sustainable development, strengthening of international partnerships and orientation towards solving current challenges confirm aspiration of DNU to make a significant contribution to shaping the future of Ukraine.
Recognition in the international ranking Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings is confirmation that DNU is confidently developing as a world-class university, which not only teaches and conducts research, but also forms the values of sustainable development, responsible leadership and social change. In times of great challenges, our university continues to work for the future of Ukraine and the global academic community.
