Europe Day at DNU: Educational Euroquest for Schoolchildren

To mark Europe Day, the Department of International Relations of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University, together with the DNU Scientific Library, organized an educational Euroquest and a tour of the library for high school students. The event was held as part of the activities of the EU Information Center, which operates with the support of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, and was aimed at popularizing European values, knowledge about the European Union, and opportunities for young people to participate in educational and international initiatives.

Students from lyceums No. 22, No. 28, No. 142, and the “MYL” Municipal Educational Institution took part in the Euroquest. An excursion to the DNU Scientific Library was organized for schoolchildren, during which they had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the work of the book collection and the activities of the EU Information Center, as well as see rare and unique publications stored in the collections of our library. Of particular interest were old books and valuable printed materials, which are an important part of the cultural and scientific heritage of the university.

 

A separate part of the program was the interactive quiz “What kind of book am I?”, prepared by the library staff. Participants were able to take an interesting survey about their own character traits, learn more about themselves and receive symbolic “book” characteristics, which made the event even more exciting and interactive.

 

As part of the activities of the EU Information Center for Lyceum Students, a thematic Euroquest dedicated to Europe Day was also held. Teams of participants answered questions about the history, culture, institutions and values of the European Union, demonstrating erudition, logical thinking and teamwork.

 

The winners of the Euroquest received thematic gifts with the symbols of the European Union, and all participants received many positive impressions, new knowledge about the EU and the activities of the EU Information Center, as well as motivation to further study European topics and participate in international educational initiatives.
