Webinar on Fulbright Program Opportunities
On April 8, Oles Honchar Dnipro National University hosted a webinar on the opportunities of the Fulbright Academic Exchange Program for study, internship, and research in the United States. Such offers are open to students, scholars, teachers, and staff – specialists in various fields.

The webinar was conducted by Inna Barysh, the Program Coordinator in Ukraine. More than 30 interested scholars, teachers, and students of our university gathered to hear about the features and conditions of participation in the prestigious scholarship program.

Representatives of DNU have repeatedly become Fulbright scholars. The webinar was joined by the Program scholar Natalia Frolova, an associate professor at the Department of Pedagogical and Age Psychology of our university. She spoke about her own successful experience of participating in an internship in the United States. Natalia Frolova became the only psychologist from Ukraine to win a Fulbright Scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year. For nine months, she conducted important scientific research for Ukrainians at the University of California, Irvine, working under the guidance of academician and honorary professor of the university, one of the best crisis psychologists in the world, Roxana Cohen Silver. Also soon to complete an 8-month internship under the Fulbright Program is the director of the Research Institute of Chemistry and Geology of DNU, Professor Vitalii Palchykov. At Carnegie Mellon University, together with other researchers, he is involved in the development of photoswitches based on norbornadiene structures, which can be used as key components in molecular solar thermal systems.

The following competitions are currently open under the Fulbright Program:
– Fulbright Graduate Student Program: one to two years of study at American universities to obtain a master's degree. The competition is open to senior students and graduates of higher education institutions. Applicants must have at least a bachelor`s degree at the time of the scholarship award. The deadline for submitting applications is May 16, 2026
– Fulbright Foreign Language Assistant Program (FLTA): nine-month internship in teaching Ukrainian (assistance to American teachers) at universities and colleges in the United States. Beginning teachers and young professionals under the age of 35 who specialize in linguistics, Ukrainian literature, translation studies, communications, journalism, American studies, and English language teaching are invited to participate in the competition. Applicants must have a master's or bachelor`s degree at the time of the scholarship award (July 2027). Deadline for applications – July 6, 2026
– Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program: conducting research at US universities, research centers, libraries, museums, archives, etc. for a period of three to nine months. Candidates and doctors of science; specialists in library and museum affairs, researchers without a scientific degree – with a full higher education (specialist, master's degree), work experience of at least ten years, significant professional achievements, scientific achievements in the chosen field of research (articles, monographs or chapters in monographs) in domestic and/or foreign (international) professional scientific publications can participate in the competition. Deadline for applications – October 15, 2026.
– Fulbright Research and Development Program: conducting research at US universities for a period of six to nine months. Persons under the age of 45 with two years of professional experience can participate in the competition: teachers; postgraduate students and researchers who do not yet have a scientific degree; candidates of sciences; administrators of higher education institutions; employees of scientific and research institutions; specialists in library, museum and archival affairs. The deadline for submitting applications is November 1, 2026.
