DNU at Spring Session “Artificial Intelligence in the Academic Environment” in Warsaw

Postgraduate student and assistant at the Department of Comparative Philology of Eastern and English-speaking countries of DNU Kateryna Rusakova took part in the Spring Session “Artificial Intelligence in the Academic Environment” of the international project “Innovative University and Leadership – Transfer of Competencies”, which was held at the University of Warsaw. Among the project participants, she was one of 25 representatives of Ukrainian higher education institutions who passed the competitive selection.

At the Spring Session, everyone had the opportunity to work with international experts, including professors from the University of Warsaw, invited researchers and Ukrainian scientists who study the problems of applying artificial intelligence in educational and scientific activities.

As part of the Spring Session, participants presented group projects where they demonstrated their own experience or the experience of their universities in using artificial intelligence. Thr representative of DNU Kateryna Rusakova worked together with Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Digitalization of Education of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Anna Yatsyshyn.

Anna and Kateryna presented the project “Use of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Educational Practices”, which covered two topics: “AI in Teaching Chinese” (K. Rusakova) and “Teacher Training” (A. Yatsyshyn).

Kateryna presented practical cases on how applications with AI modules and generative AI programs can diversify Chinese language teaching and improve the learning process, including during online learning. The capabilities of such tools as HelloChinese, TonePerfect, Skitter, NotebookLM, ElevenLabs, Gemini, ChatGPT, Microsoft Designer, Genspark AI were demonstrated. All the approaches presented in the project were tested by Kateryna in practice and regularly applied when teaching the subject “Basic Foreign Language (Chinese)” within the framework of the implementation of the educational program “Chinese and English Languages and Literatures”.
