Semester in Spain and Germany

Five students of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University completed a semester of studying under academic mobility programs in Spain and Germany. Under the Erasmus+ program, philologists Anastasia Shylo and Olesya Tikhomirova studied at the University of Seville, a student of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Information Technologies Arseny Sosna and philologist Kateryna Markovska studied at the University of Cordoba, a student of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Information Technologies Oleksandr Bagno studied at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences under the Free Mover program.

To become participants of international academic mobility under the Erasmus+ program, our students had to pass an internal competitive selection at DNU firstly (in particular, a foreign language test), and then at a foreign university, apply for a visa and agree on an individual curriculum at both universities. The Erasmus+ program provides a monthly scholarship of about 950 euros to cover all expenses related to studying abroad. According to the Free Mover mobility program, the student independently chooses the host university, such an exchange is organized outside the framework of bilateral partnership agreements.

 

Olesya Tikhomirova, in addition to studying abroad, continued to play chess and played several tournaments, in particular, she represented the University of Seville in the Spanish team championship among students in Madrid!

 

During her mobility, Olesya Tikhomirova also spread Ukrainian culture, in particular, she held a presentation about the peculiarities of the Ukrainian language, Ukrainian myths and history. On social networks, she covered news about the war in Ukraine, debunked myths that she had heard. And on Vyshyvanka Day, together with other Ukrainian Erasmus+ participants, she wore a vyshyvanka and had a photo which was taken near the University of Seville.
