Charity Fair for the Defenders of Ukraine Day

On October 2, DNU hosted a charity fair dedicated to a special event – the Defenders of Ukraine Day – a holiday of courage, devotion and love for the native land. To help our Defenders in their mission of saving lives and bringing Victory closer, with the support of the Restoration of Ukraine Foundation, a fundraiser was held to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Defenders of Ukraine Day is a unique opportunity to feel that we are all one big Ukrainian family, taking a joint step towards the dreamed Victory. This day is about strength of spirit, about our gratitude and about the fact that we are all capable of doing great things together. Similar charity fairs of the Faculty of Economics for the Defenders’ Day have already become a noble tradition at Alma mater, when all university departments unite around an important charitable goal.

This year, students and teachers of various faculties, the university administration, esteemed military friends and distinguished guests gathered together in the safe space of DNU. In honor of those who, at the cost of their own lives and hard daily work, maintain the defense of the state, giving us the opportunity to live under a peaceful sky, a minute of silence was held.

Then, the goal of the charity event was announced - the restoration of a vehicle for the work of mobile FVP groups of the 142nd separate mechanized brigade of unmanned systems “Harpy”. For this purpose, donation boxes were placed on the fair tables, each hryvnia of which is our voluntary contribution to the noble cause of supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a sign of gratitude and an effective step towards Victory.

The charity fair was solemnly opened by the acting first vice-rector, Valentyna Silich-Balgabayeva, who cut the ribbon - a symbol of our unity and good deeds!

The welcoming words of the initiator of the event, the dean of the Faculty of Economics, Tetyana Hrynko, and the guest of honor, the deputy head of the Department of Science, Higher and Professional Education, the head of the Department of Science and Higher Education of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kravchenko, added inspiration, confidence and faith in Victory to those present.

The entertainment program continued with a charity sale for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The fair itself was held in three locations: culinary (sale of delicious treats made with love by students, teachers of various departments and stakeholders of the faculty); creative (unique souvenirs and handmade products); photo zone with the tall dog Patron - the favorite of all Ukrainians, a symbol of courage and kindness). Every hryvnia transferred by the guests of the fair to the box of the “Restoration of Ukraine” Foundation will help our Defenders!

In addition to a wide range of original products, interesting activities were prepared for the fair participants - an auction for students and other interactive activities: games and blitz quizzes on patriotic themes and dance competitions.
