DNU-Mittweida: Cooperation Continues

A delegation of the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University visited a long-standing and reliable partner – the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences (Germany). Cooperation with this university has been going on for almost 20 years (since 2006), and during this time more than 100 of our students have had the opportunity to complete a full or partial course of study in economic specialties in Mittweida. Many of them received both Ukrainian and German diplomas of completion of education for a bachelor's and/or master's degree, which gave our students the opportunity to get an interesting and highly paid job in their specialty both in Ukraine and in Germany (in such well-known companies as Mersedes, Bosh, BMW, Siemens, etc.).

The current visit of our delegation, which included the rector, the corresponding member of the NASU Sergiy Okovytyy, acting Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work in the Field of International Cooperation, Associate Professor Viktor Gasso, and Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor of the Department of Marketing and International Management, Oleksiy Dzhusov, to the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences had three main goals:

 

1. Participation in the International Week 2025 event from the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, in which several universities from different countries of the world took part - the Republic of South Africa, France, Germany, Kazakhstan, Latvia, etc. The program was structured in such a way that all participants had the opportunity to get to know each other and talk about the prospects for cooperation. For this, both scheduled meetings during the day and informal evening meetings, which were also organized by the organizing committee of the event, could be used;

2. Summing up the three-year term of the “Digital Ukraine” project and discussing possible prospects for further cooperation between our universities;

3. Discussion of double degree programs, which have been operating between our universities for 18 years. Currently, these agreements only work for students of economic specialties, but as a result of a series of meetings with the rector of the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, Volker Tolkmitt, representatives of the faculties and the international department, ways were outlined to spread this practice to other faculties of our university.
