On Solidarity and Support of Ukraine

On June 8, the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University was visited by the regional advisor for international relations of the Hauts-de-France region, the famous French journalist Jean-Paul Mulot.

At the invitation of the rector of DNU Sergiy Okovytyy, Jean-Paul Mulot met with students and teachers of the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology and Study of Art, the Faculty of Systems and Means of Mass Communication, and the Faculty of Social Sciences and International Relations.

The meeting of the French guest with the youth was also attended by the deputy head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration Iryna Hrytsay. She emphasized that the Dnipro region has an agreement on cooperation with the Hauts-de-France region, concluded at the initiative of the head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration Serhii Lysak, and thanked the French guest for the unwavering support of Ukraine from the government and people of the French Republic.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Jean-Paul Mulot expressed his sincere admiration for the Ukrainian people and the Dnipro people – our resilience and ability to withstand challenges.

As a journalist and political figure, he is deeply concerned about modern geopolitical threats. In his opening speech, he paid special attention to the multidimensionality of the war in Ukraine – to the events unfolding both on the battlefield and in the information space. After all, disinformation and its tools – fake news – in the absence of proper countermeasures discourage people, disorient them, affect the perception of events by the European community and have a significant impact on the course of international diplomatic processes.
