It is reported in the site Osvita.ua, Oles Honchar Dnipropetrovsk National University occupies the eighth position in Ukrainian higher education institutions ranking of 2016, according to the scientometrics database SciVerse Scopus.
The publishing service "URAN" carried out the monitoring of scientific publishing activity’s subjects of Ukraine, ordered by Osvita.ua. Ranking results of higher education institutions are based on database index Scopus. There you can trace the quotability of research articles, which are published by the educational institution or its staff.
Nowadays Scopus database includes 128 Ukrainian Institutions of Higher Education. Generally there are 20 thousand of scientific magazines, 370 book series and 5.5 million of conference proceedings in Scopus database.
Ukrainian higher education institutions are ranked by Hirsch index – a quantitative index that takes into account the number of scientific articles and number of their quotations.
In accordance with the ranking such Ukrainian universities as Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (73), Karazin Kharkiv National University (57) and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (46) got the highest Hirsch index.
It is notable, there are only Oles Honchar Dnipropetrovsk National University (by Hirsch index 33), Ukrainian State University of Chemical Engineering (the 16-th in the ranking), Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy (the 23-rd) in the Top 10 of Ukrainian higher education institutions.
