The Head of Department is Berezhna Kateryna Viktorivna, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor.

Founded in 2013 on the basis of Department of International Law. The functioning of the Department preceded the existence of Department of History of State and Law and Political doctrines (1989-1997), International Law and Comparative Law (1997-2009). The organizer of the Department, its head in of 1989-2010 was Doctor of Historical Sciences, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Professor V.М. Kalashnikov. Since 2010 the Department is headed by Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associated Professor S.I. Polyakov. From March 2018, the Department has the current name. It is headed by Doctor of Law, Associate Professor Berezhna K.V.

At the Department work: Doctor of Law, Associate Professor K.V. Berezhna; Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associated Professor V.A. Vedkal; Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associated Professor O.M. Slisarenko; Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associated Professor V.M. Malyshko; Senior laboratory assistant V.S. Smirnova.

Educational disciplines of the Department are: "International Public Law", "International Private Law", "International Economic Law", "International Humanitarian Law", "Fundamentals of EU law", "Peaceful settlement of international disputes", "International Labor Law", "Internationally-legal cooperation of Ukraine", "History of State and Law of Ukraine", "History of State and Law of foreign countries", "History of doctrines of State and Law"," Fundamentals of Roman private law", "Suffrage of European Union countries", "History of Ukrainian juridical science".

Lecturers of the Department investigate the complex scientific problem "The evolution of international legal norms and the prospects for their application". Researches of K.V. Berezhna; V.A. Vedkal; S.I. Polyakov, O.M. Slisarenko, V.M. Malyshko is devoted to international-legal subject.
